The real goal here isn’t just “drying things.” It’s about getting your light intensity and your line speed to dance together perfectly. When that happens, the bottlenecks just… disappear.
The Science Bit (Simplified)
We build our lamps to hit very specific spectral peaks. Now, mercury vapor lamps throw out a broad spectrum, but the real heavy lifting happens at the 254nm and 365nm lines. That’s the secret sauce. It means you can cure the surface coatings and the deeper pigment layers all in one single pass. But here’s the catch: you have to match your wattage to how fast your conveyor is moving. If you blast a slow-moving line with high wattage, you’re going to scorch your materials. Too low? You’ll end up with that annoying, sticky tackiness that ruins a batch.
The Hardware Stuff
We use high-purity quartz for our tubes. Why? Because it stops “solarization.” In plain English: the glass won’t get cloudy after a few hundred hours of work. We also stick to standard industrial connectors. We wanted these to be drop-in replacements, so you aren’t fighting with your existing OEM housings. One thing you can’t ignore:heat. High-intensity UV puts out a massive amount of thermal energy. If your cooling fans or water jackets aren’t up to the task, the tube will overheat. And the second that happens, your UV intensity drops. Simple as that.
